Philippe Parreno's Il Tempo del Postino at Art Basel
9 JuneArt Basel is delighted to announce three new presentations of the critically acclaimed Il Tempo del Postino.
Organised by Philippe Parreno and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Il Tempo del Postino is a sequential display of time-based works by over fifteen of the world’s leading visual artists conceived as a group exhibition that occupies time rather than space. Originally co-commissioned by the Manchester International Festival and Theatre du Chatelet, Paris for the World Premiere in Manchester in July 2007, Il Tempo del Postino shifts the conventional boundaries of the art exhibition through the event-like nature of the work’s production.
In addition to the artists who participated in 2007: Doug Aitken, Matthew Barney, Jonathan Bepler, Tacita Dean, Trisha Donnelly, Olafur Eliasson, Liam Gillick, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Douglas Gordon, Carsten Holler, Pierre Huyghe, Koo Jeong-A, Philippe Parreno, Anri Sala, Tino Sehgal and Rirkrit Tiravanija, Il Tempo del Postino at Art Basel will include new contributions by Thomas Demand and Peter Fischli/David Weiss.
