A series of film screenings have been developed to run alongside the exhibition, 9 Ways to Say it’s Over at 20 Farringdon Street. Chosen by three of the 9 Ways to Say its Over contributing artists. Each film will contextualise themes in the artist’s work, whilst also bringing to the fore the cinematic references intrinsic to the curation of the exhibition. Cinematic tropes such as the gaze, constructed identities, place and setting, familiarity and romanticism are ideas that we set out to examine in bringing these artists works together.
Leigh Ledare has selected to screen Chantal Akerman’s ‘Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai Du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles’ this Sunday 28th July.
