Rachel Rose: The Last Day – film festival screenings
Rachel Rose’s debut feature film The Last Day is screening internationally this autumn.
In The Last Day, Rose gives Mrs Dalloway a contemporary makeover in her arresting mood piece, starring Alicia Vikander and Victoria Pedretti.
It’s the Fourth of July and two women in New York City’s suburbs are struggling. Julia, a writer grieving her father, seeks to retrieve her creative energy. Meanwhile, Taylor, a young midwife suffering from severe post-partum depression, tries to make it through the day. Rose's command of visual language infuses delicate yet potent energy into this brooding and layered exploration of motherhood.
